COOPERATION ISSUES WERE DISCUSSED BETWEEN AZERTAC AND TURKIC CULTURE AND HERITAGE FOUNDATION
On December 27, the President of the International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, Mrs.Aktoty Raimkulova, visited AZERTAC.
During a meeting with the Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan State News Agency (AZERTAC), Mr.Vugar Aliyev, president of the Foundation Mrs. Aktoty Raimkulova expressed her deep sorrow over the loss of lives resulting from the crash of an "Azerbaijan Airlines" passenger plane near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan and extended her heartfelt condolences.
During the meeting, a review of AZERTAC’s historical journey was conducted, and discussions were held on expanding practical relations between the agency and the foundation.
Mr. Vugar Aliyev emphasized that the cooperation among the news agencies of Turkic states contributes to informing the international community about the realities of our countries. This collaboration also positively impacts the expansion of political, economic, humanitarian, and other relations between our nations.
The Chairman of the Board stated that under the leadership of the President of Azerbaijan, the Victorious Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, the glorious Azerbaijani Army ended the 30-year occupation and liberated the country's territories. He noted that rapid reconstruction and restoration efforts are currently underway in these areas and that the resettlement of former internally displaced persons in their native lands is being carried out in stages. The head of the agency also provided detailed information about the historical, religious, and architectural monuments that were destroyed during the occupation of Karabakh.
Mrs. Aktoty Raimkulova spoke about the activities of the International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, its implemented projects, and its efforts to study and preserve the material and spiritual heritage of the Turkic world. She also discussed future plans. She recalled that the organization she leads was established upon the initiative of President Ilham Aliyev and with the support of the heads of state of Turkey, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.
"Currently, based on the instructions of the heads of state, the foundation is working on the reconstruction and restoration of common cultural monuments of the Turkic world and supporting projects that will be presented as multinational nominations to UNESCO," said Mrs. Raimkulova.
She noted that the foundation is working on compiling a catalog of tangible and intangible cultural heritage of the Turkic world. This project is not only about creating a list of shared heritage but also aims to publish the catalog in book and digital formats to reach a wider audience. She mentioned that a special commission consisting of prominent scholars and experts has been established for the preparation of the catalog. With the help of specialists, significant examples will be selected and included. Among these monuments are those at risk of destruction or already lost, including material and cultural heritage examples that were destroyed in Karabakh.
At the end of the meeting, the President of the Foundation, Mrs. Aktoty Raimkulova, expressed her gratitude to the Chairman of the Board of AZERTAC, Mr. Vugar Aliyev, and the agency's staff for the sincere meeting and its organization.
The discussions also covered the implementation of joint projects between the International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation and AZERTAC, as well as the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the two institutions.
