Member states
The Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation was established at the initiative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and with the support of the Presidents of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Türkiye. On May 21, 2025, an Informal Summit of the Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States was held in Budapest, Hungary, during which a decision was made to admit Uzbekistan as a full member of the Organization.
Observer states
In 2019, Hungary joined the Foundation as an observer country. On October 7, 2025, at the 12th Summit of the Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States held in Gabala, Azerbaijan, the Heads of State adopted a decision on Turkmenistan’s accession to the Organization as an observer country.
