THE TURKIC CULTURE AND HERITAGE FOUNDATION HAS INITIATED THE EXPANSION OF THE VISIT PROGRAM OF THE DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF ICESCO TO KAZAKHSTAN
As part of the visit of Dr. Salim M. Al-Malik, Director-General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), to the Republic of Kazakhstan to participate in the 8th Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, which will be held on September 17–18, 2025, in Astana, the program of the visit is planned to be expanded at the initiative and with the support of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation.
The IСESCO Director General will visit Shymkent and the Turkestan region, where special attention will be given to issues of cultural heritage and the expansion of international cooperation.
The visit includes official meetings with regional leaders and visits to cultural and historical heritage sites. he key focus areas will include expanding cooperation with ICESCO, promoting initiatives for the preservation and promotion of Kazakhstan’s cultural heritage, and including sites in Shymkent and the Turkistan Region into the List of Cultural Heritage of the Islamic World.
The Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation emphasizes that organizing the regional part of the visit is an important step in promoting Kazakhstan’s rich cultural heritage and strengthening cooperation with ICESCO.
The inclusion of Kazakhstan’s monuments in the Islamic World Heritage List will create new opportunities for strengthening the country’s international image, expanding cultural diplomacy, and boosting tourism.
