AN INFORMAL SUMMIT OF THE OTS DEDICATED TO THE THEME “ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND DIGITAL DEVELOPMENT” WAS HELD IN TURKISTAN
On May 15, 2026, the informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), dedicated to the theme “Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development”, was held in Turkistan, the spiritual capital of the Turkic world, under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, His Excellency Mr. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
The event was attended by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, His Excellency Mr. Ilham Aliyev, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, His Excellency Mr. Sadyr Japarov, the President of the Republic of Türkiye, His Excellency Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, His Excellency Mr. Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Mr. Tufan Erhürman, and the Secretary General of the OTS, Mr. Kubanychbek Omuraliev.
Held under the theme “Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development,” the Summit focused on strengthening cooperation among the Turkic States in the fields of digital transformation, innovation, artificial intelligence, connectivity, and sustainable economic development. The Leaders reaffirmed their shared commitment to further deepening solidarity, mutual trust and strategic cooperation within the Turkic World in line with the objectives of the “Turkic World Vision-2040”.
Following the Summit, the Heads of State signed the Turkistan Declaration of the OTS, the decision on strengthening the institutional and digital capacity of the Secretariat, as well as the document on the appointment of the Deputy Secretary General of the OTS.
The summit was also attended by the heads of Turkic cooperation organizations, including the President of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, Professor Aktoty Raimkulova.
