ICESCO DIRECTOR GENERAL AND SHYMKENT AKIM MET AT THE INITIATIVE OF THE TURKIC CULTURE AND HERITAGE FOUNDATION
On September 19, 2025, at the initiative of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, a meeting took place between ICESCO Director General Dr. Salim bin Mohammed Al-Malik and Shymkent Akim Gabit Syzdybek during Dr. Al-Malik's visit to Shymkent.
The primary goal of the meeting was to discuss the expansion of cultural heritage and international cooperation, strengthen collaboration with ICESCO, and include monuments in the Shymkent region on the cultural heritage lists of the Islamic world of ICESCO.
During the meeting, which was held in an atmosphere of mutual respect and understanding, both parties expressed appreciation for each other's work. Shymkent Akim Gabit Syzdybek stated that he highly valued ICESCO's projects in education, science, and culture within the Islamic world and welcomed the organization's sensitivity toward protecting Kazakhstan's cultural heritage. He also expressed his gratitude to Aktoty Raimkulova, the President of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, for initiating and organizing the meeting. ICESCO Director General Dr. Salim bin Mohammed Al-Malik, in turn, noted that Kazakhstan's rich cultural heritage makes a significant contribution to the common values of the Islamic world and emphasized the importance of future joint projects in this field.
The meeting continued with a productive exchange of ideas on the prospects for future cooperation.
