THE TURKIC CULTURE AND HERITAGE FOUNDATION IS REPRESENTED AT THE 8TH MERZIFON BOOK FAIR IN TÜRKİYE

With the initiative of the Azerbaijan Cultural Center under the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Türkiye, Azerbaijan is participating as the Guest of Honor at the 8th Merzifon Book Fair in Türkiye. The Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation is also showcasing its publications at the stand of Azerbaijan, one of the founding member states of the Foundation.
The official opening ceremony of the event was attended by prominent officials including mayors Turgay Sevindi, Alp Kargı, Zehra Özyol, Ömer Özalp, members of parliament Yaşar Tüzün, Reşat Karagöz, Mehmet Tahtasız, Ramiz Topal, and others. At the opening ceremony, the Director of the Azerbaijan Cultural Center under the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Türkiye, Samir Abbasov, delivered a comprehensive speech about the political, social, cultural, and literary ties between the brotherly countries.
Later, the government officials visited the stand of Azerbaijan, the Guest of Honor. Farid Huseyn, an employee of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, provided detailed information to visitors about the Foundation’s activities and publications. Guests were then presented with two special books: “We Are With You, Türkiye”, a collection of poems by poets from the Turkic world dedicated to the victims of the devastating earthquake in Türkiye three years ago, and “The Sword That Cuts Ourselves”, a play by prominent Azerbaijani poet Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh, dedicated to the memory of the renowned Turkish writer Hüseyin Nihal Atsız and centered on the history of the ancient Göktürks, published in both Azerbaijani and Turkish.
Throughout the day, visitors to the Azerbaijan stand were informed in detail about the Foundation’s international projects and major publications. Books printed by the Foundation were gifted to researchers and cultural figures working on topics related to the Turkic world, its history, and culture.
It is also worth noting that Farid Huseyn, representing the Foundation, has been introduced as one of the featured authors of the 8th Merzifon Book Fair, and a meeting with his readers is scheduled.
