THE PRESIDENT OF THE TURKIC CULTURE AND HERITAGE FOUNDATION AKTOTY RAIMKULOVA PARTICIPATED IN THE CONFERENCE DEDICATED TO THE 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF BAKHTIYAR VAHABZADEH.

On May 18, 2025, within the framework visit to the Sheki city, the President of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, Mrs. Aktoty Raimkulova, attended the conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Azerbaijan’s People’s Poet Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh.
It is particularly noteworthy that the conference was organized in cooperation between the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences and the Mahmud Kashgari International Foundation, in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, H.E. Mr. Ilham Aliyev, on the celebration of the poet’s centenary.
Prior to the conference, participants visited the monument of the National Leader of Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev, laid flowers, and honored his memory with deep respect. They also toured the Heydar Aliyev Center, where the conference was held.
In her address at the conference, President of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation Mrs. Aktoty Raimkulova spoke about the Foundation’s activities in the preservation and promotion of the cultural heritage of the Turkic world. She referred to the publication of the book “The Sword That Cuts Ourselves” by the Foundation, in accordance with the Presidential Decree on the poet’s centenary, as a major literary and spiritual event, and described Vahabzadeh’s creative legacy as the “living voice of the Turkic spirit.”
The event featured speeches by Elkhan Usubov, Head of the Executive Power of Sheki City, Member of the Milli Majlis (National Assembly) and President of the Mahmud Kashgari International Foundation Javanshir Feyziyev, Chairman of the Committee on International and Interparliamentary Relations of the Milli Majlis Samad Seyidov, Chairman of the Committee on Labor and Social Policy Musa Guliyev, President of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences Academician Isa Habibbayli, Director of the Nasimi Institute of Linguistics of ANAS Nadir Mammadli, TURKPA Secretary General Mehmet Süreyya Er, TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan Alim Bayel, Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Azerbaijan Maksat Mamitkanov, and Ambassador of Türkiye to Azerbaijan Birol Akgün — all of whom elaborated on Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh’s literary contributions.
At the end of the event, copies of “The Sword That Cuts Ourselves”, published by the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, were presented as a gift to the museum of the Heydar Aliyev Center.
