THE GRAND OPENING OF THE MUSEUM OF ARTS AND THE OFFICIAL PRESENTATION OF THE EXHIBITION OF TURKIC MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS CRAFTED BY MASTER ARTISANS HELD IN ASTANA
On November 25, 2025, in Astana (Kazakhstan), the Grand Opening ceremony of the Museum of Art took place within the framework of the International Arts Festival “World Music” (“Әлем Әуені”). The event was jointly organized by the Akimat of the city of Astana and the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation.
During the ceremony, exhibits reflecting the rich musical and artistic heritage of the Turkic world, interactive zones, and rare collections were presented to the public for the first time.
As part of the opening, an official handover ceremony of musical instruments crafted by world-renowned masters was held. These instruments, combining centuries-old traditions with modern craftsmanship, were recognized as unique works of art showcasing the diversity and richness of Turkic musical culture.
The event continued with the opening of the “Turkic Musical Instruments Exhibition.” The displayed pieces were accompanied by historical, ethnographic, and aesthetic information about the creation of musical instruments of Turkic peoples, providing visitors with both scientific and visual insight into this cultural heritage.
The program of the day also included master classes conducted by distinguished artisans of the Turkic world. During these sessions, participants received practical knowledge on the intricacies of instrument crafting, performance features, and the preservation of traditional techniques.
The event was regarded as yet another significant contribution to the ongoing efforts of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation toward the preservation and promotion of Turkic musical heritage, as well as a testament to the fruitful cooperation with partner institutions.
