On November 15, 2024, within the framework of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP-29), hosted by Azerbaijan, the II High-Level Meeting of Culture Ministers on Culture-Based Climate Action was held, organized by the Ministries of Culture of Azerbaijan, the United Arab Emirates and Brazil.
The meeting was opened with an introductory speech by Adil Karimli, Minister of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The event was also attended by Aktoti Raimkulova, President of the Turkish Culture and Heritage Foundation.
Aktoty Raimkulova emphasized in her speech that climate change affects various areas, including culture: "In conditions of global warming, floods, destruction, natural disasters, earthquakes, cultural objects are facing the threat of destruction. When such situations occur, we must always be constantly mobilized to restore rare monuments of material and cultural heritage. In order to create accurate, long-term, electronic copies of historical objects, the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation is taking active steps towards the digitization of material and cultural heritage, manuscript monuments, and palace complexes in Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Hungary and many other countries. "Many monuments in the world are unique due to their geographical location and the construction and restoration materials used. The experience of the creators of cultural objects of the Turkic world, passed down from generation to generation by our ancestors, is unparalleled. The Turkish Culture and Heritage Foundation has established the Association of Restorers and Historians of the Turkic World, which has rich practical experience, and has started work on publications containing historical experience, scientific analysis and practical recommendations on the restoration of monuments of the Turkic countries.
