TURKIC CULTURE AND HERITAGE FOUNDATION PRESENTS ITS NEW PROJECT NAMED “TURK DISCOVERY” ON THE YOUTUBE PLATFORM
Since ancient times, there have been many points of contact in the historical past of the Turkic countries and peoples, and this has paved the way for the manifestation of similar culture, customs and traditions. We have common roots, a rich heritage - our epics, our great personalities, customs, music, literature, and most importantly, all of this is finding its place in the treasury of world culture. For example, Turkish traces in Hungary, the Scythian-Sak heritage in Azerbaijan, the treasures of the “Golden Man” in Kazakhstan, the rise of the Ottoman Empire in Turkey, the ancient cultural cities of Uzbekistan, the Kyrgyz epic “Manas”, which is considered the pearl of all-Turkic literature, etc.
It is our duty to pass on this valuable heritage to future generations. Just as people need culture for their spiritual enrichment, culture must also be treated with care and protection. New generations must know this, assimilate it, and base their activities on it.
The Turkish Culture and Heritage Foundation, whose mission is to study, research, and preserve the rich Turkic cultural heritage, is a young organization established at the initiative of the President of Azerbaijan and with the support of the heads of state of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkey. Hungary has joined the organization as an observer country.
As Aktoti Raimkulova, President of the Turkish Culture and Heritage Foundation, noted: “During its activities, the Turkish Culture and Heritage Foundation has implemented many different projects in the field of promoting the rich history and national and spiritual values of the Turkic peoples. The organization publishes books, holds conferences, round tables, exhibitions with the participation of prominent research scientists, and also carries out work in the field of restoration of tangible cultural monuments of the Turkic World.
The next project of the Turkish Culture and Heritage Foundation is the creation of the “Turk Discovery” YouTube platform, which will broadcast programs, broadcasts, and documentaries on the tangible and cultural heritage, ancient customs, and national values of the Turkic World. This large-scale project is being implemented to contribute to bringing the wealth of the Turkic peoples to a global audience. This is a modern and effective approach, because we live in a dynamically developing world. I would like to emphasize that, in addition to the YouTube platform, the Foundation actively promotes content aimed at promoting the material and spiritual values of the Turkic countries on online platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, etc. I am sure that the audience will welcome “Turk Discovery” with great interest.
The head and “face” of the project is the well-known Kazakh journalist Maya Bekbayeva, invited by the Foundation. Maya Bekbayeva’s team has been producing documentaries on history for many years.
The first release of the “Turk Discovery” project is the documentary “Novruz - the revival of the ancient Turkic holiday” (The film can be viewed on the official YouTube channel of the “Turk Discovery” project at the link https://youtu.be/XhtnEcaG4hA?si=LsKqnUKY5A_5Tlw5).
The scientific director and co-author of the script of the film is Hasan Hasanov, an Azerbaijani statesman and politician, diplomat, scientist, representative of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States. The film crew visited Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan. Most of the filming was carried out in Baku and important historical places of Azerbaijan. The film shows the unique, different features of the Novruz holiday in each Turkic country. The goal of the project is to further strengthen solidarity among the Turkic peoples.
The project team continues to work on creating interesting and high-quality content. Currently, a documentary film is being prepared about Mahmud Kashgari's work "Divani sahaba it-turk", a collection of Turkic dialects. It should be noted that the 950th anniversary of this collection is celebrated within the framework of UNESCO in 2024-2025.
