A UNIQUE WORK CREATED THROUGH JOINT EFFORTS: “HERITAGE OF TURKIC FOLKLORE”

Professor Aktoty Raimkulova, President of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, met with Mr. Kenzhekhan Matyzhanov, Director of the Mukhtar Auezov Institute of Literature and Art, and the Institute’s research staff.

During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for inter-institutional cooperation in preserving, promoting, and transmitting to future generations the rich cultural memory of the Turkic world. The President of the Foundation, Professor Aktoty Raimkulova, expressed her special gratitude to the Institute for high professionalism and scientific support in the implementation of the multi-volume and multilingual publication “Heritage of Turkic Folklore”, which brings together the shared values of the Turkic world.

It was noted that the first series of the project was devoted to the “Heroic Epics of the Turkic World”. Work on the second series is currently actively underway. The next volume, dedicated to the romantic epics of Turkic peoples, is planned to be published during 2026.

It was also recalled that the anthology “Heritage of Turkic Folklore” has already attracted considerable interest at prominent international platforms, including during the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference held in Samarkand.

It was further noted that the subsequent stages of the project are planned to be presented on prestigious international platforms within the framework of the 100th anniversary of the First Baku Turkological Congress.

At the end of the meeting, the President of the Foundation, Professor Aktoty Raimkulova, presented letters of appreciation to scholars and representatives of the Institute who made a significant contribution to the implementation of the project, emphasizing that this partnership will pave the way for new global initiatives aimed at strengthening the unity of the Turkic world.
