THIS CONGRESS WENT DOWN IN HISTORY AS A STEP AIMED AT THE UNITY OF THE TURKIC NATIONS
"The First Turkological Congress went down in history as a great step aimed at the cultural integrity, linguistic unity, and scientific solidarity of the Turkic nation," said Secretary General of the Turkish Writers’ Union Musa Kazım Arıcan in the new edition of the project dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the First Turkological Congress by Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation and Baku TV.
He emphasized that coming together on the occasion of the Congress’s centenary to commemorate and re-evaluate this sacred legacy is not only a sign of loyalty to the past but also a clear vision for the future:
"From alphabet unification to spelling rules, from common terminology to teaching methodology, the Congress became one of the cornerstones in the path of the Turkic peoples’ linguistic and cultural development through its decisions, which were the product of shared thinking and scientific approach."
The Secretary General underlined that the willpower and devotion behind the decisions made on that day remain alive in our collective memory:
"Many scholars and poets who took part in the Congress later became victims of oppression. However, their efforts laid the foundation of today’s brotherhood, scientific cooperation, and cultural solidarity."
Musa Kazım Arıcan added that today our duty is not merely to preserve this legacy but to carry it into the future through the opportunities of the digital age.
