PRESIDENT OF THE TURKIC CULTURE AND HERITAGE FOUNDATION PARTICIPATED IN AN INTERNATIONAL FORUM IN TURKMENISTAN

At the official invitation of Mrs. Oguljahan Atabayeva, Vice President for Medical Activities of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship, the President of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, Mrs. Aktoty Raimkulova, took part in the International Conference “The Role of Women in Modern Society: Developing International Cooperation for Sustainable Development,” held on December 9-10, 2025 in the city of Turkmenbashi, within the National Tourist Zone of Avaza. The event brought together experts from 33 countries.

The purpose of the conference was to strengthen international and intersectoral cooperation aimed at expanding women's participation in political, economic, and socio-humanitarian processes, as well as to promote the exchange of successful practices aligned with global sustainable development goals.

The opening ceremony featured speeches by the Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mrs. Leyla Aliyeva; the Head of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Ms. Saida Mirziyoyeva; the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva, Mrs. Tatiana Valovaya; and other high-level participants, who emphasized the relevance of international women’s leadership.

During the speech, Mrs. Aktoty Raimkulova highlighted Turkmenistan’s important initiatives to enhance the role of women in society and presented the activities of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation as a key humanitarian platform in the region. President of the Foundation also underscored the significance of Turkmenistan obtaining observer status with the Foundation and expressed confidence in the further strengthening of cooperation.

Discussions within the conference focused on identifying new approaches and partnerships aimed at expanding opportunities for women and deepening international collaboration on the path toward sustainable and harmonious development.
